About Dr Lenore Ellett

Lenore completed her medical degree at Monash University in 1998 with honours. She subsequently trained as a general practitioner with an interest in women’s health. She left General Practice in 2003 to commence training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women. Throughout her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training Lenore worked at several hospitals including The Northern Hospital, Ballarat Base Hospital, Wangaratta Hospital, Wodonga Hospital and Reproductive Medicine, Albury.

In addition to obstetrics, Lenore has an interest in minimally invasive gynaecology (key hole surgery) and has completed a two year AGES (Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society) accredited fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery. She holds a public Gynaecology Consultant position at the Mercy Hospital for Women, Department of Endosurgery. Lenore has an ongoing interest in teaching and medical research she has presented at international meetings and published works in peer reviewed journals.

Lenore shares the oncall care of her obstetrics patients with several other obstetricians. There are four women in the practice; Dr Alison Fung, Dr Carol Vance, Dr Charlotte Elder. You can look at their shared website here –carolvance.com.au

Lenore is a happily married mother to two small girls and outside of work enjoys bike riding, playing violin and rock climbing.
